Whittier is a small village that serves as the northern-most port dock for cruiselines and access to Anchorage to the north.
It is isolated from the rest of Alaska by a range of mountains.
To get to Anchorage to the north, you have to drive through a one-lane tunnel that is shared with the railroad tracks.
